Keai Bagley & MCDOM Continue to create new music!

Every successful career, especially in the entertainment and music world, once had a starting point from which it took off. With growth comes structure and a platform to operate, which explains why record labels, talent and career management companies, and media representatives exist. Muzik Can Depend on Me, also known as MCDOM, is one of those platforms helping up-and-coming entertainers gain prominence and build lasting successful careers.

Founded by Keai Bagley from New Rochelle, MCDOM is a product of a never-dying passion for music and the art of entertainment. Keai Bagley took an interest in music at a very young age and began going to the studio in 1994. Famous Motown singer Tammy Terrel, who passed away before she was born, was her cousin, so naturally, She listened to a lot of her music and felt a deep connection to the music world. Joining the choir helped her advance musically. With musical influences from many artists from that era, including Mary J Blige, Keai Bagley armed herself with the ability to adapt and fine-tune her sound to suit her audience. She also took the opportunity to give songwriting a shot in the song titled “Late Night Creeps,” which she co-wrote.

Growing through the years, Keai Bagley & her husband Karim Bagley embraced the business part of music and set out to become a music executives by establishing MCDOM. Her goal with MCDOM is to create a platform to help break out artists into the limelight. “When people see MCDOM, I want them to think Bad Boy and how we’re positioned to become a big brand coming out of Mt. Vernon. We hope to bring real music and talent back to the music industry and give the fans nothing but the best,” Keai said.

MCDOM is currently on the lookout for talented musicians who are ready to work and be a part of a team focused on success. The record label is ready to throw its weight behind an original artist who has their own style and sound and is not scared to get into their creative mode. Keai Bagley has set up an extensive structure around MCDOM which stretches beyond just a record label to include marketing and promotion, merchandise, interview and magazine placements, video production, photoshoots, deal negotiations, and a host of other services it is capable of handling in-house. Also, outside entertainment and building talents’ careers, MCDOM runs MCDOM Cares, a non-profit focused on kids and gun violence to help the younger generation make better choices and lead better lives.

Muzik Can Depend on Me (MCDOM)’s strong suit lies in having the resources and relationships to get any artist into any label as long as the artist ticks all the boxes and the numbers add up. MCDOM has professionals who make things happen, and with the level of dedication they put in, it’s not very surprising to see the company achieve such landmark feats. Reflections of Hip Hop

When Hip Hop was born I was only 6 years old living in Marlboro projects in Brooklyn New York. As I got older, I would write rhymes and perform at the skating rink. When I was feeling down I could always count on Hip Hop to lift me up. I would go to all the shows and sneak backstage to meet my favorite artists. In Brooklyn, In the 70’s we we’re listening to James Brown, MFSB, Chic, and other soulful artists before Rappers Delight hit the world by storm in 79′. After that it quickly became a “Domino effect“, everybody wanted in. The rest is history. The first Hip Hop song I fell in love with was Planet Rock, I got lost in those drums. I played it over and over and my mom use to scream at me “Iris, turn that sh** down!!!!” I remember like it was yesterday. The first years of Hip Hop were the best years of my life with park jams, skate jams and parties. Hip Hop brought everyone together and formed a bond that can never be broken. After 44 years Hip Hop is still in my blood and always will be. I can go on and on but I’ll leave it as “Long Live Hip Hop!!!!”

Jadakiss takes over the Bronx

“SummerStage”? Well, over 7,000 park goers and residents from the Bronx can. Sunday, August 6th, 2017 in Tremont park in the Bronx, the weather was mellow, the people was eager. Originally, the concert was suppose to take place in Crotona park at the Amphitheatre in the Bronx, but was moved to a bigger stage a few blocks down the street. Signs were posted “Jadakiss concert moved to Tremont west Crotona park.” People scurried and packed up their chairs and ran over to the other side of the park.

It was old timers day and everybody was there – old, young, family and friends. This was the day every year when people got together from different states or different boroughs. They came from everywhere just to see one another. Crotona park was packed. At 4pm, park goers got the word that the Jadakiss concert was being moved to the Tremont. Why? The Amphitheatre that was going to hold the concert wasn’t big enough to handle the massive crowd. It was already 4pm on the west side of Tremont of Crotona park – a packed crowd of about 5,000 was already there. Jadakiss was not even on stage so it made sense that they moved the concert to the other side of the park especially with all the cookouts and parties that was happening on the other side of Crotona Park. The crowd was still gathering, the DJ spun music for the crowd to dance and cheer to the music. The concert started a little after 6pm. A 14 year old rapper from the Bronx took the stage and turned the crowd on. He was the opening act. Now, the crowd needed some exercise – a local workout group call Bartendaz came on stage to explain how important physical fitness was.

Jadakiss got on stage and the crowd went wild.  The rapper brung out his special guest to perform BlackJunior M.A.F.I.A performed some of his  greatest hits. The mini concert was like being at Madison Square Garden. Jadakiss began performing his top hits. The crowd rapped along with him. This was a great day for the Bronx Thanks to SummerStage.

Lisa Lisa rips summer stage in the Bronx. ” I Wonder If I Take Home” was the song and the crowd sang as the 80’s pop star brought her talent to St. Mary’s Park located on 450 St Ann’s Ave, Bronx, NY,10454. It became a disco frenzy. The crowd of young and old danced and bobbed their heads reminiscing how music use to be. A fan screamed out, “Thank you God for real music! I love you, Lisa!” Lisa Lisa belted out hit melodies as the crowd sung along. Throughout the park, the audience’s cheers echoed over the singer. Lisa welcomed it as she looked into the crowd while watching the audience – made up of all ages. Chickie Gonzalez of the Bronx was celebrating her 50th birthday with her family and was surprised by the free Lisa Lisa concert. When she heard that Lisa Lisa was performing, she moved her party over to the side where the concert was. She reported that it was the best birthday party she ever had. The park was packed with thousands of people, no one could barely move. Truly an unforgettable night, thanks to Lisa Lisa.

Summer Stage 2016 — Joe Bataan meets SETENTA/ Joan Català

Summer Stage never ceases to surprise me.  Every year, across the 5 boroughs of New York City, the City Parks Foundation holds a Summer Stage for absolutely FREE. Free is a word that catches almost every Nstreet lineew Yorkers eye. It surely caught mine and every year, I’m always surprised at the different events that the City Parks Foundation  provides for us.

Today, I had the opportunity to visit one of the events in St. Mary’s Park, located on 3rd Ave. 149th street. The location was actually a bit more into the park, on St. Anns, between 145th and 146th street, on top of the hill. It’s a huge hill, and by the time I reached the top, I was out of breath and all I wanted to do was sit. What I saw though, made my energy spike. The Hispanic community, amongst other diverse races where there and everyone was having a great time, listening and dancing to the music that was being played. I took my folding chair and sat down and listened to the music, provided by Joe Bataan and SETENTA/ Joan Català . Even after wanting to sit down after the hill climb, I got out of my seat and started dancing, joining in with the others. There was so much love between the people there, with all the hugging and dancing together. It was good to see the different cultures interact so freely with each other. The music was in English and Spanish so P1140187everyone could have a chance to understand the lyrics. For the lyrics that I couldn’t understand, the instruments touched my heart and the music felt more universal than anything.

Today, the Parks Department won on this one. They really outdid themselves with the beautiful music and bringing people together. Even if you can’t understand the music, if you feel yourself dancing to the beat and feel your heart connecting to it all and the people around you, then it doesn’t matter.
